Terms of Service
Last updated: 21 July 2026
These terms govern your use of Memo. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
The service
Memo helps you learn vocabulary using spaced repetition, illustrations, audio, and AI-generated flashcards. We may add, change, or remove features over time.
Your account
- You must provide accurate information and keep your login secure.
- You are responsible for activity under your account.
- You must be at least 16 years old, or have the consent of a parent or guardian.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- break the law or infringe others’ rights through your use of the service;
- upload content you have no right to use, or content that is unlawful or abusive;
- attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or scrape the service; or
- abuse the AI features, for example to generate content unrelated to language learning.
Your content
Words, decks, and imports you create remain yours. You grant us the limited licence needed to store and process that content so we can operate the service for you (for example, to generate audio and flashcards). You are responsible for the content you add.
AI-generated content
Translations, definitions, examples, and drawings are generated automatically and may be imperfect or occasionally wrong. They are provided for learning and should not be relied on as professional translation or advice.
Subscriptions and billing
- Memo offers a Free plan and a paid Pro plan, billed monthly or yearly via Stripe.
- Paid plans renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the app; your plan stays active until the end of the paid period.
- Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable.
- We may change prices; changes apply to future billing periods and we will give you reasonable notice.
Intellectual property
Memo, its software, and its design and illustration system are owned by us and protected by intellectual-property laws. These terms do not transfer any of our rights to you beyond the right to use the service.
Availability and disclaimer
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that it will always be uninterrupted or error-free.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data or profits, arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including your statutory consumer rights.
Termination
You may stop using Memo and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these terms or use the service unlawfully.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable in the European Union and, where relevant, the mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence. This does not deprive you of protections you are entitled to under those laws.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service evolves. When we make material changes we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
